A powerful earthquake struck the island of Kyushu in Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture, resulting in 13 deaths. Prime Minister Sanae Takaiti announced this information, as reported by ria.ru.

Takaiti also stated that the country's government is taking all necessary measures to rescue people.

It is worth noting that a strong earthquake measuring 7.1 in magnitude was registered on the island of Kyushu on Tuesday. Buildings collapsed, roads and bridges were damaged, and around 50,000 households were left without electricity. More than 80 people were reported injured.
