Today, esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Turkmenistan, Ms. Petra Dahtler. She presented her credentials to the Head of State.

Expressing gratitude to the Head of State for taking the time to meet, the Ambassador noted that it is a great honor for her to represent Germany in Turkmenistan, a country achieving great success in various fields, and taking the opportunity, conveyed warm greetings from Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz to the Head of State and Hero-Arkadag.

The esteemed President expressed his best wishes to the leadership of the friendly country, congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment to the high diplomatic post, and wished her success in her responsible work aimed at further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, it was noted that Turkmenistan attaches particular importance to developing relations with the countries of the European Union. In this context, Germany is one of Turkmenistan's key partners in Europe. Our country consistently expands cooperation with Germany on the basis of mutual respect, trust, equality, and consideration of each other's interests.

Turkmenistan and Germany actively cooperate within international organizations, primarily the United Nations, and mutually support initiatives put forward within the UN framework. Our state also cooperates with the FRG in strengthening international peace, security, and sustainable development, environmental protection, combating climate change, efficient use of natural resources, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. In this regard, the special significance of cooperation in the "Central Asia — Germany" format was emphasized. Turkmenistan views this format as an important tool for regional development, strengthening economic ties, expanding transport connectivity, and promoting joint initiatives.

Both countries attach special importance to the development of trade and economic cooperation. In this regard, the role of the Turkmen-German Working Group on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations of German Business as important instruments for advancing economic partnership was underlined. Long-term Turkmen-German cooperation in the healthcare sector is an exemplary model of fruitful relations. Within its framework, regular contacts are maintained with German experts to exchange experience with Turkmen doctors, improve their qualifications, and study the best European medical practices.

Great importance is also attached to cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. It serves as an important tool for strengthening interstate relations and brings friendly peoples closer together. A special place in this regard belongs to ties in the field of education, in particular, cooperation in training highly qualified personnel, and exchanging modern knowledge and experience.

The diplomat, once again expressing sincere gratitude for the opportunity provided for the meeting, assured that she would make every effort to comprehensively develop traditional friendly relations and intensify German-Turkmen cooperation that meets the interests of the two countries and their peoples.
