On July 29, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Romania, Annamammet Annayev, held an official meeting with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, Mihai Daraban. The focus of the parties was on key areas of economic cooperation, including the energy sector and direct port partnership.

During the talks, the head of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed interest in reviving the AGRI (Azerbaijan–Georgia–Romania Interconnector) project for the transit of Caspian hydrocarbons, which is capable of ensuring direct access of Turkmen natural gas to the European market. According to Mihai Daraban, the infrastructure of the ports of Turkmenbashi and Constanța, combined with the logistical capabilities of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and the European BRUA (Bulgaria–Romania–Hungary–Austria) gas pipeline, could become a primary route for supplying energy resources from the Caspian region to Europe.

In turn, Annamammet Annayev presented Turkmenistan's economic potential, noting the country's sustainable GDP growth and leading position in the world in terms of proven natural gas reserves. The Ambassador emphasized that the creation of a regional distribution center for Turkmen products in the port of Constanța and the development of port logistics will establish a reliable foundation for long-term trade and investment relations between the business circles of the two countries.
