Autumn holidays are underway at general education schools across all regions of Turkmenistan, as well as in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag. Various activities are being organized in accordance with a special programme designed to help students make effective use of their free time, develop their creative abilities, and broaden their cultural horizons.

As part of the programme prepared by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, schoolchildren participate in creative competitions and talent contests, and visit museums, libraries, and concert centres. These activities provide children with opportunities to spend their holidays in an enjoyable and beneficial way.

During the autumn holidays, schools organize various competitions aimed at developing students’ knowledge and intellectual abilities. These include the “Golden Talents of the Golden Age” creative competition, subject Olympiads, and international project competitions. Through these activities, students can demonstrate their talents, acquire new knowledge, and improve their skills in various fields.

Sports competitions among schoolchildren also form an important part of the holiday programme. Contests in different sports encourage young people to engage in physical activity, adopt healthy lifestyles, and develop teamwork skills.

Poetry evenings and literary gatherings are also organized for students who enjoy literature. They read their favourite poems, share their own works with their peers, and become acquainted with one another’s creative efforts. These activities help increase children’s interest in the art of literature, improve their speaking culture, and develop their creative abilities.

As part of the cultural programme, schoolchildren also visit city libraries. Library staff introduce them to a variety of books and talk about the content of literary works and the creative achievements of their authors. Such meetings play an important role in encouraging children to read and fostering independent reading habits.

During excursions to museums of decorative and applied arts, schoolchildren learn about the history of the Turkmen people, national traditions, and the culture of everyday life that developed throughout different historical periods. Museum specialists provide detailed information about the history and distinctive features of the exhibits, as well as their connection with the past of the Turkmen people.

In addition, young people have the opportunity to explore modern exhibitions showcasing the achievements of the country in the present era. These activities are important for strengthening their pride in their homeland, fostering respect for national heritage, and broadening their understanding of historical and cultural values.

Educational, sporting, and cultural activities organized during the autumn holidays not only help schoolchildren spend their free time meaningfully but also contribute to the development of their talents, creativity, and personal skills. Such activities support the well-rounded upbringing of the younger generation and help them develop a broad outlook.
