Science — the Foundation of Development and Innovation
Recent achievements in the scientific system of Turkmenistan demonstrate the steady growth of the country’s scientific and technological potential. Large-scale reforms aimed at developing science and education at the state level, innovative projects, and international cooperation are opening new opportunities for Turkmen scientists.
Within the framework of state policy initiated by the Hero-Arkadag and successfully continued by the esteemed President, the development of science has been defined as one of the priority directions. The adopted “Strategy for the Development of the Scientific System of Turkmenistan for 2024–2052” provides broad opportunities to improve the efficiency of scientific research, develop new technologies, and support innovative progress.
The achievements of Turkmen scientists are also receiving international recognition. A clear example of this is the awarding of the status of “International Scientific and Technological Park” to the Technology Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. This status helps expand cooperation with leading scientific centers around the world.
One of the actively developing scientific centers is the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute, located in the eastern region of the country. Scientists at the institute conduct research in education, industry, ecology, and the rational use of water resources, implementing their findings into practical applications.
Highly qualified specialists work at the institute and actively involve the younger generation in scientific research. Professors and lecturers guide students and schoolchildren, encouraging them to participate in scientific projects and innovative discoveries.
The institute also cooperates successfully with scientific institutions in Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Turkey, and China, actively engaging in experience exchange and joint research projects.
Science is an important driving force of societal development. New discoveries and scientific research contribute to the improvement of various economic sectors, the creation of innovative industries, and the enhancement of living standards. Therefore, the achievements of Turkmen scientists serve as a solid foundation for the country’s future development.
