Drawing inspiration from semi-aquatic fishing spiders that effortlessly skim across lakes, ponds, and slow-moving streams by distributing their weight evenly, the four-legged device adapts bio-inspired mechanics to navigate unstable water surfaces.
Equipped with advanced algorithmic controls that stabilize movement and guide directional drift, the robot demonstrated high precision during tests across diverse water environments. Capable of operating in both indoor facilities and open outdoor waters, this technological breakthrough holds significant potential for enhancing emergency response, disaster management, and autonomous aquatic search missions.
