New educational programs will be implemented in higher and secondary vocational educational institutions of Turkmenistan with the aim of improving young people’s legal literacy and providing in-depth knowledge of the foundations of international law.

This was announced during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who informed about planned measures to further develop the international legal system.

The new initiative is aimed at implementing the provisions of the United Nations General Assembly Resolution titled “2028 — International Year of International Law.”

Within the framework of the program, higher and secondary vocational educational institutions of the country will organize special courses, open lectures, and meetings dedicated to the UN Charter, its role in ensuring international peace and security, as well as the development of international legal norms.

It is also planned to prepare educational and methodological materials and information guides with the participation of national and foreign experts in international law, as well as to create electronic educational resources.

In addition, to increase young people’s interest in international law, the program includes holding an “International Law Week,” organizing educational conferences simulating UN activities, and conducting scientific research, article competitions, and essay contests on important areas of international law.

The new educational initiative will help the younger generation expand their knowledge in international relations, diplomacy, and law, while gaining a deeper understanding of the modern global legal system.
