A ceremony was held to inaugurate a new dairy processing facility operated by Täze aý önümleri, a business entity located within the Täze oba farmers’ association in Mary District, Mary Region. The company, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, is designed to process 50,000 tonnes of milk annually.

The launch of the new complex marks a significant achievement in efforts to develop domestic private-sector production, supply the local market with locally made goods and expand export opportunities. The dairy products manufactured at the facility will be sold under the Täze aý brand.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Mary Regional Administration and public organisations, staff members of the regional branches of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, community elders, private-sector representatives and students. The celebration also featured performances by cultural and artistic groups, as well as children’s creative ensembles.

The new facility covers a total area of 3.5 hectares and was constructed by Täze aý önümleri. Production buildings occupy two hectares of the site, while the remaining area accommodates an administrative building, warehouses and other auxiliary facilities. The enterprise consists of several production units equipped with modern automated machinery designed to ensure the continuous operation of manufacturing processes.

The production equipment was supplied by leading companies from Türkiye and Germany specialising in technologies for the dairy industry. The facility plans to manufacture cream, kefir, sour cream, cottage cheese, butter, süzme, ayran and various types of ice cream. A dedicated laboratory equipped with modern instruments has also been established to monitor product quality.

Cow’s milk will serve as the main raw material. It will be purchased under contractual agreements from local residents, farmers’ enterprises and private companies. Some additional materials used in production are expected to be imported from the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, Türkiye, Denmark and Malaysia.

The new complex’s warehouses will be able to store 380 tonnes of finished products at a time. After being packed in modern packaging and meeting the required storage conditions, the products will be delivered daily to markets and retail outlets. Deliveries will also be arranged in response to customer orders. To ensure uninterrupted operations, the facility has been provided with a transformer substation and a reservoir holding 500 cubic metres of clean drinking water.

More than 300 new jobs have been created at the enterprise. Staff facilities include rest rooms, a canteen and an open-air car park to support employees’ working conditions and leisure time.

According to the project specifications, when processing 50,000 tonnes of milk annually, the enterprise will be capable of producing 3,000 tonnes of milk powder, 1,050 tonnes of butter, 8,000 tonnes of fermented dairy products, between 1,000 and 1,500 tonnes of cheese, and 10,000 tonnes of ice cream. The production of the various dairy products will require 140–150 tonnes of cow’s milk per day.

There are currently 50 milk collection points operating in Turkmenistan, equipped with refrigeration units and specialised equipment for checking milk quality. Once the new facility reaches full capacity, it will be possible to increase the number of collection points, broaden the network of supplying farms and raise the volume of raw milk purchased.

A large livestock complex currently under construction in Mary District is also expected to improve the enterprise’s raw material supply. The complex is designed to produce 500 tonnes of milk and 100 tonnes of meat annually.

The new facility will also provide opportunities for students from secondary vocational schools and the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University to undertake practical training. This will help young specialists strengthen their theoretical knowledge through hands-on experience and gain practical skills in the dairy industry.

During the opening ceremony, commemorative gifts were presented to construction workers who had distinguished themselves during the building of the facility. Participants highlighted the importance of state support for the development of private entrepreneurship in the country. An exhibition of food products manufactured by Täze aý önümleri’s enterprises was also organised as part of the event.

The launch of the new production complex is intended to broaden the range of dairy products, create new jobs and strengthen the supply of domestically produced goods to the local market.
