The Department of Applied Mechanics of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute will hold the VI online subject competition in theoretical mechanics among students of higher education institutions of the country. The competition will begin on October 30 at 14:00. Applications for participation will be accepted until October 22.

The main purpose of the competition is to determine students’ level of preparation in theoretical mechanics, strengthen and deepen their knowledge and skills, as well as encourage the development of their creative abilities.

The competition is also aimed at developing friendly relations among higher education institutions, establishing an exchange of scientific information, and expanding scientific discussions between professors, teachers and students. In addition, the competition is intended to identify and support talented students who can represent higher education institutions at international subject competitions.

Who can participate?

Students of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of all fields and specialties of higher education institutions of Turkmenistan can participate in the competition.

Each higher education institution may participate with a team of no more than five students. Information about the participating students and their supervising teacher must be sent by October 22 to the email address tohi_tm@sanly.tm.

The information must include the name of the faculty, specialty and academic year, the first and last names of the participants, the first and last names of the team supervisor, the department where the supervisor works, email address and telephone number.

How will the competition be held?

The competition will be held in the form of an individual test. Participants will be given a total of 50 tasks. Of these, 30 will be test questions worth 1 point each, while 20 will be test problems worth 2 points each.

Participants will have 120 minutes to complete the tasks.

The competition will be monitored through the Zoom program. The test tasks will be posted in a special section of the website of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute at www.tohi.edu.tm.

During the competition, the use of communication devices, photo, audio and video equipment, auxiliary materials and information carriers is prohibited. A participant who receives outside assistance, talks to other participants, or uses books and newspapers will be disqualified from the competition.

How will the winners be determined?

The competition jury will be formed from representatives of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute. The jury members will evaluate the participants’ completed works and summarize the results.

Only the team supervisor may submit an appeal against the decisions of the jury by email. The final decision is made by the chairperson of the jury and is not subject to further review.

The winners will be determined according to the total number of points scored, both in the individual and team standings. The number of prize places will be distributed depending on the total number of participants:

5 percent of participants — First Degree Diploma;

10 percent — Second Degree Diploma;

15 percent — Third Degree Diploma.

The results of the competition will be posted in a special section of the website www.tohi.edu.tm.
