
The regular working week at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (GTSBTM) concluded productively, with a total of 19 contracts registered. During the trades, foreign and local entrepreneurs showed great demand for products from various sectors.
Export Contracts: Oil-Gas and Textile Products Lead the Way
The main part of the transactions conducted in foreign currency was formed by the products of our country's oil-gas and chemical industries, as well as the capacities of state concerns. Businessmen from Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Afghanistan purchased liquefied gas and desulfurized diesel fraction produced at the enterprises of the "Turkmengaz" and "Turkmenhimiýa" state concerns.
There was also a high demand in the foreign market for other goods of domestic production, including textile and medicinal products. Representatives of the business spheres of Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, the UAE, Turkey, and Kyrgyzstan reached agreements on exporting bedding sets, raw silk, cotton yarn, dry licorice root extract, and fatty acids contained in cotton oil residues. The total value of international trades exceeded 13 million 66 thousand US dollars.
Domestic Market Also Maintains Its Activity
Representatives of our country's private sector also actively participated in the exchange trades, purchasing products necessary for the domestic market. Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan consumed base oil, unbleached fabric, refined cotton oil, and high-quality wheat flour. The total value of these transactions, finalized in the national currency, amounted to 118 million 350 thousand manats.
