More than 11,000 court lawsuits have been registered in the US against "L’Oréal", one of the world's largest cosmetics manufacturers. According to the Reuters news agency, these complaints do not apply to all of the company's products, but only to its specific chemical hair relaxers.
The initiation of the court cases was prompted by scientific studies conducted by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). The research showed that women who frequently use chemical hair straightening products may have a higher risk of developing severe illnesses, such as uterine cancer (an oncological disease).
Despite this, a proven court ruling and the company's guilt have not yet been officially recognized. "L’Oréal" asserts that its products are completely safe and denies the allegations before the court. At present, whether there is a direct link between the products and oncological diseases will only become clear as a result of the judicial investigations.
