Turkmen Entrepreneurs Actively Participate in the Implementation of Socially Oriented Projects

Turkmen entrepreneurs contribute to the development of education, healthcare, and cultural systems and actively participate in the implementation of socially oriented projects. This is evidenced by the formation of responsible business practices in the country. Understanding their role in societal development, entrepreneurs contribute to solving priority national tasks. In this regard, innovations and the successful experience of the country’s private enterprises in sustainable development can serve as a model for other landlocked developing countries facing similar challenges and striving to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), according to TDH.

It is noted that active cooperation is currently underway within projects aimed at developing entrepreneurship, expanding export opportunities, and attracting foreign investments. Within the framework of cooperation with organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UNICEF, and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Turkmen entrepreneurs gain access to advanced knowledge, technologies, and the best global practices. This facilitates the enhancement of the competitiveness of their products and broadens their opportunities to enter new markets. Programs supporting women’s entrepreneurship, innovative projects, and startups are clear examples of such cooperation.

Participation of representatives of Turkmen companies in international exhibitions, forums, and business trips organized with UN support enables them to establish direct contacts with potential partners and investors from around the world. This creates favorable conditions for expanding the range of exported goods and increasing the volume of foreign trade turnover.

The continuous improvement of trade operations in accordance with international standards, as well as the introduction of modern technologies and digital systems in this field, is among the key directions of the foreign trade system.

A clear example of this is the signing in March 2024 of a Memorandum of Understanding between Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations and the German Society for International Cooperation on the regional project “Simplification of Trade Procedures in Central Asia.”

Turkmenistan consistently develops international business relations by signing agreements with business circles of various countries, establishing cooperation, and opening trade representations and trade houses abroad.
