Turkmen school students demonstrated results that brought honor to our country at the "Turkic International Mathematical Olympiad" (TIMO 2026), held from July 2nd to 6th in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
In this major competition, which involved talented students from 13 countries, including Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, the Philippines, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Türkiye, and Turkmenistan, our youth showcased their knowledge and logical thinking skills.
According to the results of the competition, the Turkmen team won a total of four awards. Ayhan Orazdurdyyev, a 4th-grade student at the A.S. Pushkin Joint Turkmen-Russian School, achieved a high result among 56 participants in his age group, winning a bronze medal.
Additionally, Ashgabat student Alimuhammet Orazov, as well as Mary students Ayjeren Muhammetnazarova and Gulshat Muhammetnazarova, were awarded the honorable mention diplomas.
This international competition required students not only to know mathematical theories but also to possess the ability to make quick and correct decisions when solving complex problems. The success achieved by Turkmen students is further evidence of the milestones reached in our country's education system.
