
At the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO-2026), held in Shanghai, People's Republic of China, from July 10 to 21, Turkmen schoolchildren won silver and bronze medals for our country.
According to the results of the competition, Agaperman Berdymyradow, a 12th-grade student at secondary school No. 40 in the Yoloten etrap of the Mary velayat, was awarded a silver medal.
In addition, bronze medals were awarded to Begench Akmyradow, a 12th-grade student at Ashgabat specialized secondary school No. 49 with in-depth study of mathematics and English, as well as students from Ashgabat specialized secondary school No. 86 with in-depth study of English, chemistry, and biology — 12th-grade student Malyksha Meylismyradow and 10th-grade student Hemra Gurbanow.
In this prestigious international competition, 685 talented schoolchildren from 119 countries around the world competed against each other. Turkmenistan was represented at this major competition by a national team consisting of 6 secondary school students from our country.
The successes achieved by our schoolchildren at the international level became a clear confirmation of the immense state support provided in our country for improving the science and education system, introducing advanced methods and innovations, ensuring quality education for the younger generation, and their comprehensive development.
