Students and teachers of the Myrat Garryýew State Medical University of Turkmenistan participated in international training seminars on traditional medicine held in the People's Republic of China.
The event, held from April 9 to 23, 2026, at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, was organized by the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies. This significant training was attended by medical students not only from Turkmenistan but also from across the Central Asian region.
During the two-week program, students explored the centuries-old experience of Chinese medicine from both practical and theoretical perspectives. During the sessions, special attention was paid to the history of the origin and development of traditional Chinese medicine, ancient treatment methods used in rehabilitation, as well as the cultivation, harvesting of medicinal plants, and the preparation of medicines.
The curriculum was not limited to classroom lessons but also provided an opportunity for students to broaden their horizons. During the trip, students visited museums dedicated to traditional Chinese medicine. A tour of the Great Wall of China, one of the wonders of the world, was also organized.
This international exchange of experience is of great importance for improving the professional level of Turkmen medical students and integrating Eastern medical treatments with national practices.
