Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan Significantly Increased Railway Freight Transport
Since the beginning of 2026, dynamic growth in transport and transit traffic has been noted in the Central Asian region. According to industrial statistics, the total volume of railway freight transport between Kazakhstan and the countries of the region increased by 34%. "Kazinform" reports this, citing sectoral statistical data. Within these figures, a 31% increase in traffic carried out with Turkmenistan draws particular attention.
According to experts, this significant growth is related not only to the increase in cargo volume but also to the innovative solutions being implemented in the transport sector. The following are highlighted as key growth factors:
