Representatives of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan took part in an international training seminar held in Geneva, Switzerland, dedicated to improving the asylum system.

The conference, held on September 15–16, 2026, at the headquarters of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the 1951 Refugee Convention. Representatives of various countries and international organizations attended the event. This was reported by the press service of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan.

During the conference, discussions focused on ensuring access to relevant services for asylum seekers, identifying vulnerable population groups, and implementing effective mechanisms to protect victims of human trafficking.

Along with studying international experience, the participants analyzed strategic approaches to efficiently managing migration flows and aligning national asylum systems with international standards.

At the end of the conference, representatives of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of regularly holding such training seminars in developing international cooperation and learning advanced practices.
