According to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), citing Report News Agency, today marks the fifth anniversary of SOCAR's role as the technical operator of the Baku–Tbilisi–Erzurum gas pipeline. Between August 1, 2021, and August 1, 2026, a total of 130.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas was transported through the pipeline.

The company stated that during the first half of 2026, gas transportation along the route reached 11.442 billion cubic meters, representing an increase of 1.84 percent compared to the same period last year.

SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations has served as the commercial operator of the pipeline since 2015 and has also been responsible for its technical operation since 2021. The pipeline transports natural gas from the Shah Deniz field in the Caspian Sea and supplies Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye.
