
On May 15, 2026, the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management summarized the results of the IV Open International Internet Olympiad on World Economy, organized among students of higher educational institutions of our country and foreign countries.
This year's intellectual competition brought together 140 talented students representing a total of 39 higher educational institutions from 12 countries of the world (Turkmenistan, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Germany).
According to the results of the competition, a total of 66 students were awarded prize-winning places. Out of them, 11 took the first place, 22 took the second place, and 33 took the third place.
Turkmen students achieved great success in the international competition, securing a total of 21 prize-winning places (2 first places, 9 second places, and 10 third places) in their direction.

In addition, among those who took the second and third places in the competition, there are representatives of the higher educational institutions mentioned above, as well as the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, and other higher educational institutions of our country.
Foreign students also showed great activity in the competition and won a total of 45 prize-winning places. Among them, 9 first places were shared by students from higher educational institutions of Russia, Pakistan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Germany.
As a tradition, the international Olympiad was held in Turkmen, Russian, and English languages in the form of an individual competition. The participants were tasked with solving 10 complex problems related to the world economy within 120 minutes. The jury of the competition included representatives of scientific-educational institutions and higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and foreign countries.
This annually organized internet Olympiad serves as an effective platform for revealing talented youth. It contributes greatly to strengthening educational and friendly relations among students and teachers of the participating countries, and mutually exchanging valuable scientific knowledge and practical experience. According to the organizers of the enterprise, the main goal of the competition is to develop international scientific-educational cooperation, increase the interest of youth in research work, and prepare young specialists capable of making sustainable management decisions on important contemporary issues.
