Young Turkmen theater figures participated in a professional development week in Moscow
MOSCOW, Cultural ties of European and Asian countries — Recently, an important event aimed at developing theatrical art and strengthening international cooperation took place in Moscow, Russian Federation. Organized by the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation, the professional development week titled "International Theater Cooperation" was attended by a group of young and talented specialists from Turkmenistan.
Bringing together more than 30 specialists from 11 countries, this large-scale event saw active participation from representatives of Turkmenistan's cultural sphere. Among them are:
- A. Hudyylyyew — Specialist of the Theaters and Entertainment Establishments Department of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan;
- B. Garajayev — Director of the artistic and creative department of the A.S. Pushkin State Russian Drama Theatre;
- A. Pavlov — High-category artist of the creative team of the A.S. Pushkin State Russian Drama Theatre;
- D. Allakov — Artist of the artistic and creative department of the Turkmen State Puppet Theatre.
During the visit, which spanned from July 13 to 18, Turkmen specialists participated in master classes organized by experienced directors, film and theater actors, and artists working in Russia's leading theaters.
The study week program was very rich, covering important topics such as "Theater Map of BRICS and CIS Countries", "International Theater Project: From Creative Idea to Stage", and "Dialogue of Youth and Cultures". This trip provided young theater workers with a great opportunity to expand international cooperation, implement new creative initiatives, and study global theatrical experience.
As part of the professional development trip, interesting excursions to Moscow's famous cultural centers were organized for our country's representatives. They visited the Mossovet Theater and the world-famous Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. The young people also closely watched the performances staged at these theaters — the Mossovet Theater's "R.R.R." and the Bolshoi Theater's "Anna Karenina". The modern methods of sound design, lighting, and costume systems used in these stage works served as a real school of experience for the Turkmen specialists.
On July 15, 2026, one of the most significant events for the participants of this international study week was visiting the house-museum of K. Stanislavsky, one of the founders of Russian theatrical art and prominent representatives of directing art, and acquainting themselves with the books and creative heritage of the world-famous theater theorist. In addition, during the international study week, introductory tours of Moscow's libraries, museums, and other cultural centers were organized for the Turkmen creative delegation.
