On March 26, a large-scale business forum titled "Turkmenistan – European Union: New Horizons for Developing Interconnectivity, Attracting Investment, and Ensuring Sustainable Development" was held in the capital of Turkmenistan. Organized by the Government of Turkmenistan in collaboration with the EU Delegation and the International Trade Centre (ITC), this event marked a significant step in implementing the EU’s "Global Gateway" strategy.
The forum brought together over 200 delegates, including high-ranking politicians, leaders of prominent enterprises, and experts from international financial institutions. The primary goal of the meeting was to explore new avenues for cooperation in trade and sustainable economic development.
A key highlight of the forum was the speech by the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, Mammetguly Astanagulov. He emphasized the strategic nature of the relationship with European partners. According to the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, the foreign trade turnover with the EU for 2025 reached approximately $2.1 billion. It was noted that Turkmenistan maintains economic ties with nearly all EU member states, implementing regional programs, country projects, and targeted financial agreements.
