Victory Streak of Turkmen Juniors Continues on Colombo Courts

Turkmenistan's junior national tennis team (U16) has secured an early spot in the quarterfinals of the Asia and Oceania zone of the Davis Cup, held in Colombo. Following a confident win over Oman (3:0), our tennis players concluded a tense match against Myanmar athletes with a 2:1 victory.

The decisive point in the match against Myanmar was earned by the doubles pair consisting of Ali Geldiyev and Kerimgeldi Guldurdyyev. They secured the win in a super tie-break (4:6, 6:3, 10:7). In the singles competition, Ali Geldiyev leveled the score by defeating Da Wun (6:4, 6:1). Earlier, Suleyman Hudayberdyyev had lost to his opponent in the opening match.

In addition to Turkmenistan, the Singapore national team also advanced to the play-off stage from Group "B". In the final round, the teams will face each other to determine the first place in the group. The national teams of Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Oceania also advanced to the quarterfinals early. In total, 15 teams are participating in the ITF pre-qualifying tournament.
