
In Herat province, Afghanistan, preparatory works for laying pipes on a 91-kilometer section of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline have been completed. This was reported by the TAPI project representative in Afghanistan, Bangunj Abdulla Yof, during a meeting with Herat Governor Sheikh Mawlawi Islamjar and Turkmenistan’s Consul General in Afghanistan, Batyr Yolow.
According to the Herat administration, all necessary infrastructure works have been fully completed on this section. Several worker camps have also been established to ensure continuous construction of the gas pipeline.
The Herat governor positively assessed the progress, noting that the project contributes significantly to the successful implementation of the strategically important energy cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan’s Consul General Batyr Yolow expressed confidence that the work on the TAPI gas pipeline in Herat will be completed by the end of the year according to the approved plan.
The implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project is of strategic importance for expanding regional energy cooperation.
