A new children’s animated film titled “The Touchy Little Dwarfs” has been released in Turkmenistan. The cartoon combines the magic of a New Year fairy tale with an educational message about the value of knowledge.
The story begins with a grandfather telling his grandchildren, Dowran and Gulnara, an episode from their childhood. On the eve of New Year, the children write letters to Father Frost asking for gifts, but in the morning they discover that the letters have disappeared. Dowran remembers seeing little dwarfs stealing them at night.
The children seek help from Akjemal granny, who advises them to find her friend, the sorceress Gummur Mama. After receiving a golden guiding ball of yarn from their grandmother, Dowran and Gulnara go to the sorceress’s hut. She gives them a magic sphere that leads to the Enchanted Forest where the dwarfs live.
On the way, the boy falls off his horse and breaks the magic sphere. Lost, the children take shelter under an old plane tree. The next day, the tree gives them a silver leaf showing the way to the dwarfs’ cave.
At the entrance to the cave, they meet Half-Ear, whose height is half the size of an ear. He gives them a special ointment to make them smaller.
Inside the cave, the children learn that the dwarfs stole the letters because they were offended at Father Frost — he had never brought them presents. Dowran and Gulnara teach the dwarfs how to write, and they also write their own letters to Father Frost.
As gratitude, the dwarfs return all the stolen letters, and Half-Ear gives them his magical flying horse to quickly deliver the letters to addresses.
The story ends with the heroes waking up and finding the gifts they wished for under the New Year tree.
The main idea of the cartoon is that literacy, kindness, and mutual understanding help overcome any difficulties.
