A new appraisal and production well has been put into operation at the "Chemmerli" gas fields located in the central part of the Karakum Desert. The daily volume of industrial-grade natural gas obtained from this well reached 150–200 thousand cubic meters.

Well No. 265, with a depth of 1200 meters, was successfully drilled by specialists from the "Dovletabatgazchykarysh" Directorate of the State Concern "Turkmengas". As a result of testing works carried out in the productive layer at the interval of 1114–1110 meters, a stable daily flow was recorded. This indicator once again proves the high industrial capacity of the local field.

The works on the development of the "Chemmerli" field are carried out within the framework of the program aimed at expanding the raw material base of the country's oil and gas sector. Putting new high-yield wells into operation serves to increase the production volumes of "blue fuel", fully meet the domestic needs of our country, and further strengthen Turkmenistan's export capabilities in the global energy market.
