A new step in environmental protection: National Forest Program until 2030 approved in Turkmenistan

In the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, a relevant Decree was signed in order to further strengthen the legal foundations of the state policy on ensuring environmental sustainability and protecting the environment in our country. In accordance with the new document signed by the President of Turkmenistan, the "National Forest Program of Turkmenistan for 2026 — 2030" and the Action Plan for its implementation were approved.

This program is aimed at defining the main directions of work regarding the mitigation of the negative impacts of climate change, and increasing the sustainability of natural ecosystems and forestry. Furthermore, the new document will enable the coordination of measures to successfully implement the existing "National Strategy of Turkmenistan on Climate Change" in our country based on the designated plan.

The adoption of the National Forest Program is another clear evidence of the efforts being made at the state level toward expanding the country's forest zones, developing ecological culture, and forming a healthy environment for future generations.
