New Agreements and Plans
In August 2025, at a trilateral meeting held in the Avaza national tourism zone, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan agreed to deepen their cooperation in civil aviation, with plans to:
- Launch new air routes,
- Increase frequency of existing flights,
- Create more passenger- and business-friendly conditions.
These steps are part of a broader initiative to enhance the Middle Corridor international transport route.
Uzbekistan–Azerbaijan: Expanding Air Connectivity
On June 13, 2025, national carriers Uzbekistan Airways and Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) signed a code-share agreement, allowing:
- Up to nine weekly flights on the Tashkent–Baku route, offering greater flexibility,

Turkmenistan: A Key Regional Link
Turkmenistan continues to invest in modern international airports—such as those in Ashgabat, Turkmenabat, Mary, and Dashoguz—and plans new routes:

- Potential future services: Turkmenabat–Baku, Dashoguz–Tashkent.
