
From April 6 to April 12, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic hosted the continent’s elite wrestlers for the Asian Freestyle Wrestling Championships. Amidst fierce competition, Turkmenistan’s Alp Arslan Begenjow displayed exceptional skill and iron will, successfully earning a spot on the podium.

In the semi-final match, Begenjow faced a formidable opponent, Kamran Ghorban Ghasempour from Iran. Despite a tough loss to the highly-ranked Iranian wrestler (0:11), Alp Arslan demonstrated great mental resilience, quickly refocusing for the decisive bronze-medal bout.
The third-place match saw a clash of styles between Turkmenistan and Japan. The encounter with Yudai Takahashi was intense and spectacular. By maintaining tactical discipline and leveraging his physical strength, Alp Arslan Begenjow secured a convincing 10:5 victory. This win added a prestigious Asian Championship bronze medal to Turkmenistan's tally.
