
The ancient city of Khiva will become a new center for regional cooperation. From April 16 to 17, 2026, the first expert forum in the "Central Asia + Germany" (C5+1) format will be held here. This was reported by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
This significant event is organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, the regional office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation's office in Uzbekistan.
The main goal of the forum is to create an analytical foundation for the "Central Asia + Germany" partnership and to establish a permanent platform for expert engagement.

Over two days, experts will discuss key areas such as strengthening political dialogue, elevating industrial and economic cooperation to a new level, accelerating digital transformation, and regulating labor migration. Special attention will also be given to developing human capital through academic exchanges.
The "Central Asia + Germany" format represents a strategic partnership between the Federal Republic of Germany and the five states of the region—Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The Khiva forum will be a vital step in defining new scientific and practical directions for this cooperation.
