In our country, ensuring the population is supplied with electricity reliably and without interruption is one of the key directions of state policy. The continuous and safe operation of electrical networks is a fundamental condition not only for sectoral services but also for the daily life of society, industrial activities, and agriculture. Therefore, adhering to the established rules when using electricity is the responsibility of every citizen.
According to the “Rules for Ensuring the Protection of Electrical Networks,” approved by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan on May 28, 2015, special protective zones are established around overhead power lines. These zones are defined at specific distances depending on the voltage of the lines. The purpose of these protective zones is to safeguard power lines from external impacts, prevent accidents, and ensure public safety.
Under these rules, it is prohibited to light fires in the protective zones of overhead power lines. Additionally, without written consent from relevant authorities, it is forbidden to construct buildings, carry out earthworks, conduct blasting, plant gardens or trees, establish yards or livestock pens, or transport equipment and vehicles exceeding 4.5 meters in height.
Unfortunately, in some cases, violations of these rules lead to emergency power outages. Illegal construction or repair works in the protective zones may result in electric shock to workers and accidents. This causes disruptions in industry, agriculture, healthcare, and other sectors, as well as significant economic losses.
Therefore, we urge citizens to refrain from lighting fires and performing any prohibited activities near overhead power lines. Following the established rules is a necessary condition for our collective safety, uninterrupted electricity supply, and the overall welfare of the country.
