On July 31, an informal consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and the President of Azerbaijan was held on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in the city of Cholpon-Ata. The primary outcome of the summit was the signing of the Cholpon-Ata Declaration, which solidified a high level of strategic trust between the participating nations.

The state leaders discussed in detail the deepening of trade and economic ties, the expansion of transport and logistics corridors—including transit routes bypassing traditional barriers—and energy security. A key decision announced during the meeting is that the next full-scale summit in the "Central Asia – Azerbaijan" format will take place this autumn on October 8, 2026, in the Turkmen National Tourist Zone "Avaza."
