On September 11, an Agreement on Cooperation was signed in Ashgabat between the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Interstate Aviation Committee.
The document was signed by CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev and Chairman of the Interstate Aviation Committee Oleg Storchevoy. This was reported by the CIS Executive Committee.
The agreement provides for expanding cooperation in the field of civil aviation and improving the regulatory and legal framework in this area. The document also covers such areas as increasing the efficiency of air traffic management, ensuring flight safety and developing the transport services market in the region.
The parties will pay particular attention to introducing innovative and digital technologies in the aviation sector, including artificial intelligence solutions, strengthening cybersecurity, and reducing the negative environmental impact of air transport.
Within the framework of the agreement, opportunities will be created for exchanging information, relevant documents and experience on flight safety management systems, as well as for holding consultations and joint events involving specialists.
The parties may also participate in relevant meetings organized by the CIS Executive Committee and the Interstate Aviation Committee to discuss important issues related to the development of civil aviation.
The new document represents an important step toward developing cooperation in the field of civil aviation across the CIS space and improving the sector in line with modern requirements.
