
An important meeting involving leaders of national trade unions from Central Asian countries was held within the framework of the 114th session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva. Representatives of the International Labour Organization's Bureau for Workers' Activities (ACTRAV), as well as trade unions from Azerbaijan and Mongolia, also participated.
The main themes of the meeting were the development of trade union activities in the region, strengthening social dialogue, and expanding mutual cooperation between the organizations.
Important event in Ashgabat The meeting discussed plans to hold a meeting of heads of trade unions of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan, as well as a scientific-practical conference in Ashgabat this November. These events are being implemented in accordance with the Regional Joint Action Plan signed in May between the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan and the Bureau for Workers' Activities.
Turkmenistan – Kazakhstan cooperation On the sidelines of the conference, a bilateral meeting took place between the Chairperson of the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan, Oguljennet Berdiliyeva, and the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan, Satybaldy Dauletaly.
The parties discussed ways to develop cooperation in protecting the rights and interests of workers. The Kazakh side invited O. Berdiliyeva to pay an official visit to their country and sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the trade unions of the two countries. The Turkmen delegation was also invited to a regional conference in Almaty.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to strengthen friendly relations in the region and continue cooperation in protecting the socio-economic interests of workers.
