Malaysia Intensifies Tourism Cooperation with Turkmenistan: Presentation of «Visit Malaysia 2026» Held

Malaysia pays great attention to elevating relations and expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan in the tourism sector. The first specialized meeting dedicated to the global scale program «Visit Malaysia 2026» was held in Ashgabat with the participation of tourism sector representatives from both countries.

Direct flights operated between Ashgabat and Kuala Lumpur make a major contribution to the year-on-year strengthening of cooperation between the two states. These direct flight routes create more convenient and faster opportunities for citizens of Turkmenistan to travel to Malaysia for seaside vacations, business trips, or education.

The interest of Turkmen citizens in this Asian country is steadily growing. Specifically, last year the number of Turkmenistanis who traveled to Malaysia increased by more than 42%, exceeding 10 thousand people. This positive growth momentum continues consistently this year as well.

Malaysia attracts the attention of tourists with its unique nature, rich cultural heritage, modernity, and high level of security. Furthermore, the high level of development of halal infrastructure and traditions of hospitality in the country has led to its recognition as one of the most favorable destinations in the world for Muslim travelers.

The meeting held in Ashgabat opened a wide path for local travel agencies to establish direct business relations with Malaysian partners. This will greatly assist in the near future in creating more convenient travel packages, new tours, and interesting excursion routes for citizens.
