The State Service of Maritime and River Transportation of the Agency for Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan organized three-stage complex exercises on the prevention and elimination of emergency situations in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. These activities were carried out within the framework of the work plan of the State Commission for Emergency Situations for the year 2026.

According to the exercise scenario, a simulated oil spill occurred at the "Zhdanov-A" platform of the "Jygylbek" oil and gas field. The report about this accident was received by the operator of the Vessel Traffic Management Center of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, who immediately issued an alert to the civil defense and emergency response services.

An operational center was established at the port's Civil Defense Center to coordinate actions. While the management team determined the tactics for eliminating the accident, specialists from the Caspian Ecological Control Service conducted ecological monitoring using a special vessel, measured the area of oil spread, and took samples of sea water.

Specialized naval forces arrived at the simulated accident zone together with the Marine Rescue Service of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport. The rescuers promptly deployed special booms, localized and collected the spilled oil, and prevented environmental damage. Based on the results of the exercises and the assessment of the restoration work performed, the emergency services received a high evaluation of "Ready" for the agility and accuracy of their joint actions.
