FC "Arkadag" to face "Goa" in the AFC Champions League Two preliminary stage

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has determined the opponent for Turkmenistan's "Arkadag" football club in the preliminary round of the AFC Champions League Two. The opponent for our national champion will be the Indian football club "Goa."

The match will take place on August 12 this year in Turkmenistan at the "Arkadag" stadium. The winner of this match will qualify directly for the group stage of the tournament. The losing side is expected to continue its campaign in the AFC Challenge League.

"Arkadag" earned the right to participate in this competition thanks to its impressive performance over recent seasons, establishing itself as one of the country's strongest clubs. Their opponent, "Goa," reached this stage after winning the Indian Super Cup.

Statistics from past matches between Turkmen clubs and Indian teams show favorable results for Turkmen players. This experience is reinforced by the successes of "Altyn Asyr" and "Ahal" clubs, which have previously defeated representatives of the Indian football league in international competitions.

The AFC Champions League Two is the second-most prestigious club competition in the Asian region. The group stage of the 2026/27 season will begin in September.
