In Garaşsyzlyk District of Daşoguz Region, ground was broken for a vegetable oil plant that will process 60,000 tonnes of cottonseed a year and for a new complex that will produce 350,000 tonnes of urea and 350,000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate annually. Turkmenistan’s President took part in the ceremony. The news was reported by the “Watan” program.
The oil plant will be built by the company “DOST gurluşyk, söwda, önümçilik”. With a total area of 122,500 square meters, it will produce high-quality cottonseed oil and be able to receive 600 tonnes of raw material per day. At the first stage, incoming material will be inspected and stored in raw-material warehouses.
The State Concern “Türkmenhimiýa” plans to build large nitrogen fertilizer complexes in the district. The project will be carried out by the company “Gap Inşaat”: the ammonium nitrate production will be built by a German company, and the urea production by a Dutch one. Natural gas will be the main raw material, and the plant is preliminarily expected to use 630 million cubic meters of gas and 6 million cubic meters of water a year.
After the ceremony, the head of state warmly bid farewell to the participants. Having completed his working visit to Daşoguz Region, the President left Daşoguz International Airport for Ashgabat.
