On Monday, November 2, 2026, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, leading a high-ranking delegation of diplomatic, economic, and parliamentary officials. He was officially welcomed by Turkmenistan's Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov.

The two ministers held comprehensive talks focusing on the expansion of political and economic cooperation, alongside key regional issues. According to IRNA, the bilateral talks were followed by a joint meeting of the Iranian and Turkmen delegations, co-chaired by Araghchi and Meredov.
