A meeting dedicated to the results of activities carried out in January–July 2026 was held at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan. The participants reviewed measures aimed at modernizing national legislation, implementing tasks set by the Head of State, and improving the efficiency of parliamentary work.

According to the press service of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, during the reporting period, amendments and additions were introduced to existing laws in areas related to protecting citizens’ rights, ensuring industrial safety, improving financial and accounting reporting systems, developing licensing procedures, protecting roads, the environment and aquatic biological resources, as well as migration policy.

During January–July, seven laws of Turkmenistan were adopted. Among them was the Law on establishing the jubilee medal “To the Participant of the Solemn Military Parade Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence.” In addition, the Mejlis adopted 12 resolutions.

The meeting also discussed preparations for the session of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan. Attention was paid to fulfilling tasks arising from the UN Resolution “2028 — International Year of Law”, adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan.

Participants emphasized the importance of active involvement of deputies in preparations for state and international events planned throughout 2026, including high-level events scheduled to take place in October in the national tourist zone “Avaza.”

The meeting highlighted that cooperation with foreign parliaments, international organizations and diplomatic missions operating in Turkmenistan, as well as participation in training seminars and working visits, contributes to improving legislative activities.

Participants stressed the importance of continuing efforts to explain the content of adopted laws to the public, promote the country’s achievements and international initiatives. It was also noted that efforts to further develop the activities of the Parliament of Turkmenistan will continue.
