An important political event is expected soon in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. From July 30 to August 1, an informal consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and Azerbaijan will be held in the city of Cholpon-Ata.

To participate in this event, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will arrive in Kyrgyzstan on a state visit. This was announced by Askat Alagozov, the press secretary of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The main purpose of the summit is to expand interregional cooperation, strengthen economic ties, and discuss promising areas of multilateral partnership.

As noted, the historical decision on the admission of Azerbaijan as a full member in this format was adopted following the results of the VII consultative summit held in Tashkent in November 2025.

Along with this, it was announced that the next important meeting in the relations between the Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan will be held in Turkmenistan. This meeting, to be held under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan, will take place on October 8, 2026, in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone located on the ecologically clean coast of the Caspian Sea.
