Seyed Mostafa Hosseinipour has been appointed as the new Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the city of Mary. It is reported that before starting his duties, the new diplomat met with Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who defined the main directions of the consulate's activities. This was reported on the Iranian government's page on the social network X.
During the meeting, Abbas Araghchi noted the importance of developing Iranian-Turkmen relations, drawing attention to the need to further expand cooperation between the two countries in economic, transport-transit, and cultural spheres.
It should be noted that neighboring Iran and Turkmenistan have maintained active relations in the energy, transport, and trade sectors for many years. The Consulate General of Iran in the city of Mary, along with the Embassy in Ashgabat, is one of the key diplomatic missions in our country.
