New Version of "Toyota Corolla" Model Dedicated to Its 60th Anniversary Introduced

The famous Japanese corporation "Toyota Motor" has implemented a new project on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the start of production of the "Corolla", one of its best-selling and world-renowned models. The corporation has launched a specialized "Active Sport" version of the "Corolla" (sedan) and "Corolla Touring" (wagon) models for the domestic automotive market of Japan. As is known, the 60th glorious anniversary of the launch of production of the first-generation "Corolla" vehicle will be officially celebrated on October 20 of this year.

The "Active Sport" series of the car significantly differs from standard models with its design features and sporting touches. In the vehicle's exterior, special aerodynamic parts are placed on the lower sections of the bumpers and side skirts. Additionally, the new car is equipped with 215/45 R17 tires and unique black, multi-spoke light-alloy wheels.

Great attention has also been paid to comfort and sports-style design in the vehicle's interior. The front dashboard inside the car is fully covered in synthetic leather, and aluminum covers are used on the foot pedals. The front side of the cabin will be adorned with special sports seats featuring side support that holds the body better, along with new floor mats under the feet. Furthermore, special emblems and logos prepared in honor of the famous brand's 60th anniversary are placed in several corners of the interior.

In this technically enhanced model, stiffer and more stable settings of the suspension system have been utilized. However, this technical advantage applies only to front-wheel-drive modifications, while the suspension system of the all-wheel-drive (4WD) "Corolla Active Sport" models will maintain its standard form.

The new model is equipped with a "parallel hybrid" system. It consists of a 1.8-liter "2ZR-FXE" gasoline internal combustion engine, a variator, and an electric motor, making the total power of the system equal to 140 horsepower. The "E-Four" system is utilized in the vehicle's all-wheel-drive transmission. This system ensures the stable movement of the car when road conditions become difficult (especially at the moment of moving from a standstill and at low speeds) with the help of a separate compact electromotor on the rear axle.

In the domestic market of Japan, the starting price of the "Toyota Corolla Active Sport" anniversary model has been set at 3,231,800 yen.
