Specialists and researchers from Turkmenistan can apply to participate in a five-month research programme organized by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) at the University of Oxford.
The programme is intended for professionals who are at the mid-career stage and have a postgraduate professional qualification or equivalent professional and research experience. Applicants wishing to participate are required to have at least five years of professional or academic research experience.
Within the programme, participants will have the opportunity to conduct their own research in various fields related to the Islamic world. The areas covered include Islamic culture and civilization, contemporary Muslim societies, history, economics and Islamic finance, science and technology, international relations, as well as intercultural dialogue.
Selected specialists will conduct their research at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies for five months. They will also have the opportunity to make use of the centre’s academic resources, exchange ideas with relevant specialists and scholars, and further develop their research areas.
The programme also provides financial support for participants. The support covers the main expenses associated with study and research activities within the programme, accommodation and international travel.
This opportunity is offered within the framework of the Chevening Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Fellowship programme. The programme provides participants with opportunities to collaborate with international specialists conducting research on the development of Muslim societies, international relations and contemporary social issues.
Citizens of Turkmenistan are also eligible to apply for this programme. Specialists planning to submit an application must send the required documents electronically by October 6, 2026, at 11:00 UTC.
