
A delegation led by the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, Ata Serdarov, was on a working visit to Japan from June 10 to 12. During the visit, a series of important meetings were held to discuss the development of political, inter-parliamentary, and party-to-party relations between the two countries.
In negotiations between the delegation and the leadership of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party, including Vice-President Taro Aso and Secretary-General Shunichi Suzuki, the prospects for bilateral cooperation were discussed. The parties emphasized that the regular political dialogue at the level of the Heads of State plays a crucial role in bringing the partnership to a new level.
At the meetings, the necessity of establishing direct relations and creating a new mechanism for cooperation between the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan and the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan was noted. During the talks, views were exchanged on the importance of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly regarding joint projects in the oil, gas, and chemical sectors.
At the conclusion of the visit, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen the multilateral and mutually beneficial relations between Turkmenistan and Japan.
