President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has arrived on a working visit to the Kyrgyz Republic to participate in the informal meeting featuring the heads of state of Central Asia and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, according to official Turkmen media.
Upon arrival at the Issyk-Kul International Airport, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was greeted by Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting, held in the city of Cholpon-Ata in the Issyk-Kul region, the heads of state of the regional countries will discuss strengthening traditional partnerships and expanding interstate relations across political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian sectors. They will also exchange views on pressing issues on the regional and international agendas of mutual interest.
The informal summit of the heads of state of Central Asia also includes the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A primary focus of the gathering will be the further development of cooperation and the consolidation of mutual ties among the countries in areas of shared interest.
