Between May 18 and 19, 2026, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted the "Tashkent International Migration Forum" (TIMF-2026). This large-scale event served as an important platform for discussing strategic issues aimed at ensuring safe, orderly, and legal migration both regionally and globally.
The international forum brought together representatives from several countries and prominent international organizations, including an official delegation from our country led by the Deputy Chairman of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan.
The forum's agenda analyzed the most critical tasks and measures within the framework of contemporary global migration policy. Throughout the sessions, migration processes were addressed as a fundamental condition for sustainable development and secure mobility. Special attention was also dedicated to strengthening interstate cooperation in the field of labor migration, including the protection of the rights and interests of migrants.
Within the framework of the conference, experts extensively explored the matters of implementing gender policies in line with modern sustainable development goals, alongside expanding women's access to social and legal services in the labor sector. Furthermore, specialists discussed a comprehensive analysis and specific findings regarding the impact of environmental factors and global climate change on population migration movements.
The forum organized in the city of Tashkent greatly contributed to enhancing international cooperation, coordinating the efforts of states and international organizations, and exchanging leading practices. At the conclusion of the forum, the participating parties expressed confidence that cooperation will continue to develop sustainably in the future.
The active participation of representatives from the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan in such high-level international conferences and global events clearly demonstrates the continuous strengthening of cooperation maintained by our Independent, permanently Neutral Motherland with the global community in the sphere of international migration law and policy.
