During a working trip to the People's Republic of China, representatives of Turkmenistan's State Concerns «Türkmennebit» and «Türkmengaz» met with leaders and specialists from «Huawei» to explore modern digital technologies applied in the energy sector.

The primary purpose of the Turkmen delegation's visit to China was to study firsthand the innovative solutions used to accelerate digitalization in the oil and gas industry. This was reported by the press service of the «Türkmennebit» State Concern.

In the first stage of the trip, Turkmen specialists were shown the application of telecommunications systems, information technologies, and «smart» devices across various fields. In particular, they familiarized themselves with the practical capabilities of digital solutions in urban infrastructure management, communications, public safety, and financial systems.

During the visit to the innovation complex in Shanghai, the work of research and development centers was also examined. Turkmen representatives received information that new technologies are tested and refined in special laboratory conditions before being introduced into production.

At a special meeting held on September 16, particular attention was paid to the digital modernization of Turkmenistan's oil and gas complex. Representatives of «Huawei» shared the experience gained through cooperation with China's CNPC and the UAE's ADNOC company.

The meetings included detailed discussions on the potential of utilizing «Cloud + AI + Big Data» technologies, high-speed communication systems, and the integration of production data into a unified system. Implementing such solutions in geological exploration, drilling, well monitoring, and pipeline tracking allows for more precise management of production processes.

The capabilities of using artificial intelligence technologies to pre-detect technical malfunctions, reduce production risks, and increase safety levels were also demonstrated.

During the meetings, Taylor Zhou, Vice President of «Huawei» for Central Asia, and other company executives delivered presentations on digital projects implemented in the region.

The parties discussed cooperation opportunities for deepening digital transformation in Turkmenistan's oil and gas complex, as well as integrating cloud technologies and artificial intelligence solutions into production processes.

As a result of the negotiations, it was deemed appropriate to implement relevant pilot projects in stages to study international experience in accordance with Turkmenistan's legislation, information security requirements, and the operational specifics of the «Türkmennebit» State Concern.

These meetings provided an opportunity to expand the use of digital technologies in Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry and explore new avenues of cooperation for experience-sharing with international technology companies.
