The Russian Federation is ready to expand cooperation with Turkmenistan in healthcare, support the training of medical professionals and exchange experience in modern medical technologies. This was announced by Yevgeniya Kotova, Deputy Minister of Health of Russia, in an interview with journalists during a working visit to Turkmenistan.
According to her, the Russian side is interested in helping its Turkmen counterparts train specialists and in supplying medicines, vaccines and modern medical equipment.
“We have experience worth sharing with our colleagues. We are ready to help train specialists and offer modern medical products, including medicines, vaccines and state-of-the-art equipment. We intend to continue exchanging experience in this area,” Yevgeniya Kotova said.
The Russian Deputy Minister of Health attended the opening ceremonies of several medical centres commissioned in Turkmenistan to mark Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers’ Day. She said these facilities stand out for their modern architectural designs, advanced equipment and approaches to organising medical services.
According to Kotova, the new centres place particular emphasis not only on medical technologies but also on patient comfort, working conditions for healthcare staff and logistical arrangements. Learning about the construction and operational organisation of these facilities was also of interest to Russian specialists as an opportunity to exchange experience.
The Russian delegation also attended the international exhibition and scientific conference entitled “Healthcare, Education and Sport in the Era of the Revival of a New Epoch of a Powerful State.” As part of the event, 13 leading Russian higher education institutions, including medical universities, presented their capabilities at the Russian House pavilion.
Yuliya Zaitseva, First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Ashgabat, emphasised that the international exhibition serves as an important platform for exchanging experience among specialists, scientists and representatives of the education sector from different countries. According to her, the Russian delegation included not only representatives of higher education institutions but also doctors and specialists engaged in medical research.
Tyumen State University was among the higher education institutions participating in the exhibition. According to Andrey Tolstikov, the university’s vice-rector, the institution is developing cooperation with higher education institutions in Turkmenistan.
The main areas of cooperation include professional development for specialists, workforce training, student exchanges, joint scientific research, and the organisation of scientific conferences and forums.
Developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia in healthcare, medical education and scientific research creates opportunities to enrich specialists’ professional experience, introduce modern medical solutions and strengthen relations between the two countries.
