Safety and Health: The Role of Digital Technologies in Combating Drug Crime

On April 20–21, 2026, a Turkmen delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, O. Kakalyýew, participated in the international forum titled "Combating Transnational Drug Threats for Public Health and Safety" held in Samarkand. The forum was co-organized by the Agency for Drug and Firearms Control under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The forum included discussions on current global and regional trends in illicit drug trafficking, the development of preventive measures among youth, treatment and social reintegration systems, and the implementation of digital technologies and artificial intelligence-based solutions in the fight against drug threats.

Furthermore, special attention was paid to strengthening international cooperation in this field.
