In connection with the beginning of the grain harvest season in the country, the State Fire Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan reminds of the necessary requirements for ensuring fire safety in the fields.

Main fire safety rules:

  • Machinery: All agricultural machinery operating during the harvest must be equipped with primary fire extinguishing equipment. Spark arresters, which must be regularly cleaned, must be installed on the exhaust pipes of tractors and combines.
  • Safe distance: Machinery parking lots, refueling points, and welding sites must be located at least 100 meters away from crop fields.
  • Protective zones: Protective strips with a width of at least 30 meters and a plowing depth of 25–30 centimeters should be laid along grain fields and roads.
  • Prohibitions: Burning residues and straw in the fields is strictly prohibited.
  • Monitoring and preparation: Electrical lines should be located 50 meters away from residential buildings and 100 meters from crop fields. Electrical equipment in grain warehouses must be installed in accordance with safety standards. Water tankers must be kept on standby on-site for immediate action in case of a fire.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds that drivers and machine operators working during the harvest season must undergo regular briefings. In case of a fire, it is necessary to immediately call "01" or "001" from mobile phones.
